万寿菊又名蜂窝菊、臭芙蓉，一年生草本。花多色艳，丰花、花期长，易栽培，园林、街道美化的优良材料。万寿菊花瓣叶黄素相当丰富，多用于制药、食品工业等。国内天然黄色素需求量常年维持在15万吨以上，国际市场售价在30万元/吨以上，有“软黄金”之称。

一、土壤
万寿菊栽植基质宜疏松、透水、透气，建议泥炭和蛭石等比例混合，用前应充分消毒杀菌，以避免带入病菌，感染花病。

二、光照
万寿菊喜光照，若光照不足，会造成茎叶徒长、植株软弱，花小量少。
三、温度
万寿菊喜温暖、向阳，耐早霜，短期2-3℃低温亦能生长。

万寿菊喜肥，但氮、磷、钾肥应均衡，以促进花叶繁茂。除施基肥外，生长期间，每半月施次稀薄液肥即可。叶面可喷施2-3次叶面肥，配方：0.3％尿素液+0.5％磷酸二氢钾。

五、修剪整形
1、修剪
夏季植株易徒长，为控制株高，应及时修剪。顶芽摘除后，植株偏矮壮，花期易控制，开花较早。因花期偏长，生长后期枝叶易枯老、倒伏，对过密茎叶、残花应及时疏去。
2、摘心
定植成活后，为促使多分枝，增加开花数，可摘心1-2次。
3、疏蕾
为促花朵硕大，需及时去除侧蕾。为促进顶部的花蕾发育充足，毋须摘心。
